At least once a week I have a sexual dream (not always sex, but major flirting, kissing, etc) about men other than my husband. These are actual men that I know. I NEVER dream about my husband. I love him with all of my heart, but our sex life isn’t great. Do these dreams mean anything?
I am going to make an educated guess that you are very troubled by the lack of communication that is happening between you and your spouse.
Your "dreams" are, most likely, a reflection of this disconnection. Dreams are thoughts we have while asleep. They, in themselves, are neither good or bad; however, they can be meaningful at a personal level.
Don’t misjudge yourself because they occur. You haven’t acted on your thoughts.
If you can, discuss your overall connection concerns with your spouse. (Probably best to keep the dreams a private thing.) Try to find out what is causing a divide.
In your communication steer clear of argument and focus on solution. Do your best to first hear your spouse’s concerns and hopefully, this may lead to him hearing yours.
In the end, you may best find that working with a marriage counselor will help redevelop the bond that will lead to satisfaction with the relationship for both.
Good sex in a relationship is an indicator of the satisfaction level of both parties.
Best of luck
I’ve been having the same odd dream for the past couple times while having really odd predicaments in real life. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about self>dream interpretation or anything that could be helpful? I’ve already tried the dream dictionary and got some ideas, but I’m kind of curious. Any help? Thanks.
First of all, "dream dictionaries" are worthless. Dream interpretation is extremely personal. It’s all about what certain situations mean to you personally. For instance, if someone dreams of dogs, there can be several interpretations:
1. If they love dogs, they might be expressing a warm, fuzzy satisfaction with life in general.
2. If they’re scared of dogs, the dream might indicate that they feel very threatened by a situation in their real life.
3. If they’re animal activists, they might feel vulnerable.
Dreams are just your subconscious expressing what’s going on in your real life, using simple "pictures" as metaphors.
The fact that you state that you’re facing odd predicaments in real life says, to me, that you’re trying to sort them out using dreams. Are your dreams scary, just weird, empowering? Whatever is featured in your dreams, isolate it, and ask yourself how you feel about it, such as the dogs mentioned in my example above. Is the central figure someting you love? Something you feel threatened by or scared of? What is happening with this central figure? Is it in danger? Is it, instead, dangerous? Is it helpful, loving, etc.? You get the idea.
As you can see, dreams are very specific to *your* brain. A generic book won’t help at all. Just take some time, and think it through. When your interpretation feels right, when it "clicks", you’ll know you’ve got it!
I had a dream about a big snake and a smaller snake each coming out of a hole in the ceiling and after the big snake came out, a giant cow stuck it’s head through the hole & climbed through and the giant snake began to eat it, but the cow was stuck 1/2 way through the hole and 1/2 way down the snake, and [someone] ran up on the roof and pushed the cow off with a big stick. ![]()
Some information is contained here. Mainly keywords that describe dreams and their meaning.
Its happened to me, and it felt real. I believe that they are real, but my significant other insists that they are just dreams. I believe that it was real because in the experiences, I was fully conscious. Insight anyone?
Consciousness tells you they’re a reality, but not which reality. To determine what sort of correspondence you’re getting with physical reality, you need to observe unsuspected things out of body and then successfully run across those same things in the physical world. I have done this with some extremely low probability objects over the years – but not all that often, and usually accidentally. You’ll probably need a fair bit of persistence to do this to your satisfaction, as perception is a lot less straightforward than you might naturally assume during these experiences.

Dreams are an important happening inside the brain. Freud said dreams belonged to the individual and reflected there desires. Carl Jung went deeper and said dreams belonged to the collective unconscious and the collective unconscious is the same for everyone.
